His appearance is so distinctive that no one around him accepts him as part of the ordinary crowd. Such a person like Jiro seeks something that doesn’t exist in the city. He rides his motorcycle alone, traveling through the mountains. He camps out in the wilderness, drinking coffee over a fire. He also engages in intimate relationships with middle-aged women who live nearby. He’s truly like a wild wolf. The wolf continues to ride his motorcycle northward. Eventually, he reaches a coastal town that lost its population during the earthquake. A little further away from there lies Jiro’s hometown. Now, when Jiro visits his mother, who lives alone, he feels a warmth that only exists in the countryside.
