Dangerous relationships

The tragedy begins in a mountain cottage located at the foot of a snowy hill, surrounded by birch forests. Soon, a wicked sense of jealousy arises in this peaceful mountain region, and it burns away all traces of true human love. Yasuko, an old woman with a youthful appearance, lives in the cottage owned by Yasujii Kōji. Kōji is a second-rate photographer from Tokyo. Due to his profession, he has a rather extravagant relationship with women. Yasujii’s aunt, she herself also has a mistress. However, she feels pity for Kōji, who is her only relative. So, she plans to give him a large sum of money as a gift.
