It’s a beautiful island in the south, with white sandy beaches and a cobalt-blue sea. In the bedroom, Mikayo (Reiko Kusakawa) and her husband, Junichi, are having sex. Mikayo keeps her legs bent and remains in that position throughout the act. The couple were trying to get pregnant. The next day, several workers, including Junichi and his colleague Yoshii, were working on removing landmines from a huge ruin near the town. Junichi stepped on a landmine and died. Meanwhile, Yoshii went to Junichi’s house for the wake. There, he met Mikayo again. Yoshii had been a former police officer. He had a history of killing someone because of his wife’s infidelity.
