Description

It was during the mid-Edo period. The ukiyo-e artist, Kato Eguchi, became involved in creating prohibited picture scrolls. He was asked to create such scrolls as part of the dowry for the daughter of a wealthy merchant from Edo. Eguchi was captivated by the beauty of Oei, a town girl named Suizukawa Ai. She was pure and untainted. To create a painting of Oei, Eguchi taught her everything about sexual relationships, gradually turning her into a woman.
